Back to main page  (catalog) The  Report  Photo Album  can be found   HERE  ! I managed to conquer another Top (the first was the Top of Europe in Switzerland), this time it was the Top of Germany. The former was 3571 m high, while the current one was 2964 m.  First, let's look at some facts. The peak is divided between two countries, the smaller part belongs to Austria, the larger part to Germany. The German part also belongs to two administrative units: Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GP) and Grainau. The Austrian and German parts are sharply separated, the old Alte Zollhütte (Old Customs Hut) still stands, and above the gate is the inscription: Warm greetings to Tyrol. On the Austrian side, the colors of their flag can be seen at the bottom of the building: red-white-red stripe. Nem tudom mennyire tűnt fel, de az egész út alatt a német-osztrák határon ingadoztunk, főleg a német oldalon voltunk, de rengetegszer átmentünk Ausztriába is. Füssen nél gyorsabb (vagy érdekesebb) volt Ausztrián keresztül Füssen déli oldalára menni (meg ott kb. 30 Euró centtel! olcsóbb volt a benzin), a lombkorona ösvény en konkrétan ott a határ (az egyik lábbal Ausztriában, a másikkal Németországban), a Zugspitze is megoszlik a két ország között.  Itt az a helyzet állt elő, hogy az egyik bejárat Németország felől nyílik, a másik Ausztria felől, de az egész szurdok Ausztriában található. Nem tudom, hogy a határokat hogyan határozták meg, de a határ a szurdok alsó bejáratánál található, a második képen látszik is, hogy van egy zárható ajtó járdán, az az államhatár. Ennél a pontnál csak a vízeséshez lehet bejutni és belépődíjas. Sajnos, amikor mi ott voltunk, nem volt nyitva. Miután az ide vezető úton nem...
